Abstract

This study aims to determine the business prospects of street vendors in the Kuwarasan market, Kebumen Regency from an Islamic economic perspective. This research method uses a qualitative approach with research subjects as market managers, buyers and street vendors in the Kuwarasan market. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. While the data analysis was carried out by the stages of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that: 1) Street vendors in Kuwarasan Market, Kuwarasan District, Kebumen Regency have very good prospects. It is based on the strengths, opportunities, and profits accruing to the larger traders. 2) Viewed from an Islamic economic perspective, trading activities at the Kuwarasan Market, Kuwarasan District, Kebumen Regency are in accordance with what has been taught in both the Al Quran and the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW regarding buying and selling, namely avoiding the practice of usury, thayyib, being honest, containing aspects of fairness, balanced and professional business. The street vendor business has potential both for traders and for the local community. For traders, the business of street vendors has more advantages, while for the local community, the existence of street vendors can make it easier to get necessities at more affordable prices.
