Gerakan Koko Pede Mengantisipasi Calon Tunggal pada Pilkada Kebumen Tahun 2024

Abstrak

The Koalisi Konco Pejuang Demokrasi (Koko Pede) movement is strengthening in seeking alternative candidates following the incumbent Arif Sugiyanto - Ristawati Purwaningsih's move to run again in the 2024 regional elections. This study aims to reveal the Koko Pede movement in anticipation of a single candidate in the 2024 Kebumen regional elections so that it is not like the previous regional elections in 2020 which were only contested by Arif - Rista.This research method is qualitative descriptive using the theory of new social movements from Sidney Tarrow. The results of the study reveal Koko Pede’s strategy which does not block the incumbent from running in the 2024 regional elections after the emergence of alternative candidates Lilis Nuryani – Zaeni Miftah. This is because the opportunity to become a single candidate also came to Lilis – Zaeni before the determination of the candidate by the Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU). Therefore, Koko Pede plays a significant role in maintaining democracy running healthily and with dignity with the absence of a single candidate in the 2024 Kebumen regional elections.
