HUKUM CHILDFREE DALAM PERSPEKTIF AL-QUR’AN DAN HADIS

Abstract

This research aims to explore childfree law from the perspective of the Al-Qur'an and Hadith. The Childfree phenomenon shows a shift in values ​​regarding children in the family. Childfree is a decision taken by a person or a married couple not to have children. The existence of childfree seems to conflict with the basic principles of Islamic law, giving rise to pros and cons in society in responding to the childfree phenomenon. The Al-Qur'an itself provides an illustration that one of the purposes of the existence of couples is prescribed by Allah SWT is as a way to maintain human existence. This research is a type of library research because it uses library data sources as a reference. This research is descriptive analytical, where the approach is used to understand childfree law from the perspective of the Koran and Hadith. The research results reveal that the purpose of pairing is to maintain human sustainability, as this is implied in Q.S. An-Nahl 16:72, Q.S Ar-Rum 30:21 and Q.S Al-Furqan: 74, Q.S. Ali Imran; 38. Q.S. An-Nur; 32. The existence of pairing regulations and explanations regarding the role of children in the Qur'an, as well as the benefits of offspring, shows that children have a very important role in family life. Departing from this, it can be concluded that the original law of childfree is permissible or simply tarkul afdhal (abandoning priorities), if we look at the motive, the law of childfree will be different. If the motive is good and acceptable according to Islamic jurisprudence then it is permissible, if not then it is not permissible because it is contrary to the Koran and Hadith.
