Pengaruh Struktur Organisasi dan Budaya Kerja Terhadap Kinerja Sekolah di SMP Negeri Kecamatan Kepahiang

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of organizational structure, work culture, and managerial processes on the performance of junior high schools (SMP) in Kepahiang District. Recognizing that school performance goes beyond academic achievement to encompass effective organizational management, the research emphasizes the role of adaptive structures, collaborative work cultures, and participative management systems. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, observations, and analysis of school documents, including performance reports and strategic plans. Findings indicate that flexible organizational structures improve communication pathways and clarify roles, which supports efficient task completion. Schools with a collaborative work culture benefit from enhanced staff interactions, innovation, and shared goal alignment, positively influencing both teaching quality and student outcomes. Additionally, participative management processes that involve staff in decision-making foster a sense of ownership and boost motivation, thereby enhancing overall school effectiveness. This study suggests that a combination of adaptive structure, collaborative culture, and participative management significantly strengthens school performance. Future research should explore the influence of school leadership and professional development on educational outcomes and examine practical approaches to support schools in meeting evolving educational demands
