Manajemen Pengembangan Kurikulum Pendidikan Karakter Berbasis Pesantren (Studi Kasus Madrasah Aliyah Al - Hamid Jakarta)

Abstract

The lack of optimal formal education (schools) in shaping the character or personality of their students in accordance with religious norms and the noble values ​​of the nation's culture is due to the fact that most schools provide an unequal portion between cognitive and affective. The knowledge (cognitive) side is more dominant than the affective side, namely behavior and or character. This problem can be overcome by adopting Islamic boarding school education which neatly combines the cognitive side of the students with their affective side. So that the combination is expected to form a better character/personality of students. With the existence of this environment, MA Al Hamid has its own advantages because the students are not only given lessons in the school room but outside school hours receive material at the Islamic boarding school. Another advantage is that local materials at Madrasah Aliyah Al Hamid are filled with materials provided at Islamic boarding schools. The results of the study show that Curriculum Development Management at MA Al Hamid includes planning, implementation and evaluation. First, curriculum planning is prepared by considering the pesantren curriculum as 1) strengthening the madrasah curriculum 2) as a curriculum capable of equipping students with character 3) as a curriculum that creates certain advantages. Second, the implementation of curriculum development is carried out by carrying out several things, namely 1) comparative studies, 2) scientific gatherings, 3) trial and error programs, 4) forming a drafting team, 5) open to criticism and suggestions, and 6) end of semester evaluation. Third, the evaluation of the development of the pesantren-based madrasah curriculum on the formation of student character can be seen from changes in student attitudes and behavior.
