This study aims to determine the competence of the principal and the application of religious culture in shaping the character of students, to implement all of that, the most important role is the principal because the principal is the person who is most fully responsible for achieving these goals. The purpose of the researcher is to find out whether the competence of the principal and the application of religious culture are able to shape the character of students or not. The research method used by the researcher here is qualitative literature study research. The research was conducted through the stage of collecting library source data. This study classifies data based on the survey formula. In the next stage, data processing or reference citation is carried out, presented as research results. Based on the study that the researcher has conducted, it shows that the competence of the principal and the application of religious culture are able to shape the character of students based on the theories that we have explained
