Abstract

Reading is the activity of looking at reading material and the process of understanding the contents of the text aloud or silently. This research aims to determine the reading difficulties and factors of reading difficulties in class II students at MI Pejagatan. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this research were class II students at MI Pejagatan. Data collection methods in this research are observation, interviews and documentation. The research subjects taken were the second grade teacher, the school principal and 1 female student who had difficulties in reading. Based on the results of research conducted by researchers at MI Pejagatan, namely: lack of familiarity with letters, errors in replacing letters, difficulty spelling and lack of memory. Reading difficulties are influenced by several factors, namely internal factors and external factors. Factors that influence reading difficulties are internal factors and external factors
