Abstract

This study aims to determine the behavior of fruit traders in Petanahan Market Kebumen when selling merchandise and to determine the perspective of Islamic business ethics on the behavior of fruit traders in Petanahan Market Kebumen Regency. This research uses qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques in this study using Interview, Observation, and Documentation techniques.

The result of the research shows that there are still some principles of Islamic business ethics that have not been implemented by fruit traders in Petanahan Market. The principles of Islamic business ethics that have been applied are as follows: the principle of tawhid with the provision of not taking too much profit which will exceed the market price. Furthermore, the principle of free will by giving freedom to buyers by not forcing them to buy merchandise because buyers have the right to get goods according to the quality and price they want. There are also principles of Islamic business ethics that are not or have not been applied or more often not applied are the principle of balance, the principle of responsibility, and also the principle of benevolence which is still less applied by fruit traders in Petanahan Market, Kebumen Regency.
