AHLU AL-BAIT MENURUT SYI’AH: TELAAH ATAS PENAFSIRAN AT-THABARSI DALAM KITAB MAJMA’ AL- BAYAN FI TAFSIR AL-QUR’AN

Ahl al-Bayt refers to the family of the Prophet Muhammad Saw. who received special privileges and virtues from Allah Swt. There are numerous differing opinions regarding the meaning and the specific individuals who comprise the family of the Prophet Muhammad Saw. This study examines the concept of Ahl al-Bayt in Surah al-Ahzab (33), from the Shia perspective, utilizing the commentary Majma’ al-Bayan fi Tafsir al-Qur’an by Al-Tabarsi. The method employed is descriptive analysis, with techniques involving the study, presentation, and analysis of all data relevant to he discussion. To achieve a more detailed research outcome, this study applies Gadamer’s hermeneutic theory. The finding regarding the meaning of Ahl-Bayt in Majma’ al-Bayan fi Tafisr al-Qur’an explain that in Surah al-Ahzab (33), Ahl al-Bayt consists of only five individuals: the Prophet Muhammad Saw., Ali bin Abi Thalib, Hasan, Husain, and Fatimah. Furthermore, the concept of ma’shum (infallibility or being preserved from sin) applies exclusively to the Ahl al-Bayt.
